About the WHAS Crusade for Children

Our Mission: The WHAS Crusade for Children makes life better for children with special needs by inspiring generosity with our community partners.

Our Vision: Together we provide resources to impact all children with special needs.

The WHAS Crusade for Children, Inc. established in 1954 by WHAS-TV, raises money for agencies, schools and hospitals to better the lives of special needs children in all 120 counties in Kentucky and 50 counties in Southern Indiana.

  • The Crusade for Children is able to grant 100% of all donations to agencies, schools and hospitals that provide direct services children with special needs thanks to generous contributions of goods & services.
  • Money donated in Kentucky stays in Kentucky, and likewise money donated in Indiana stays in Indiana
  • No money is sent to any national charity or other organization
  • The Crusade for Children telethon takes place the first full weekend in June and is seen and heard on a Kentucky statewide network of television, radio and Internet outlets
  • Through the Crusade for Children, we’ve changed the lives of millions of children in Kentucky and Indiana since 1954
