Crusade awards grants in south central Kentucky
WBKO-TV in Bowling Green has been a strong network partner of the WHAS Crusade for Children for more than a decade.
Thanks to General Manager Rick McCue and Weather Director Chris Allen for their ongoing support in spreading the goodness of the Crusade across South Central Kentucky.
From WBKO.com:
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — This year’s WHAS Crusade For Children is paying off for non-profits right here in south central Kentucky. Tuesday those groups were presented their checks by our very own Chris Allen in Bowling Green.
The dollar amounts were different for everybody. Each organization said the impact of every dollar will be huge.
“Their funding is vital to the success of our organization. It keeps us going. It keeps us hopeful. It keeps the creative juices flowing,” said ExecutiveDirector of VSA Kentucky, Delaire Rowe.
“This money is going to go toward our pediatric hospice program. We call it Courageous Kids. This brings us one step closer to bringing that program to Bowling Green,” said Hosparus of Manager of Community Relations, Melinda Hill.
During the Crusade For Children telethons a little more than $11,000 was raised in and around Warren County. The total amount given away from the overall drive was $195,000.
