Johnson Traditional Middle School penny war

Rhythmic pling brings lots of bling!

The students and faculty at Johnson Traditional Middle School have turned their annual Penny War into big bucks for the WHAS Crusade for Children.

The five-day challenge for all the classes at Johnson was to collect as much change as they can. Folding money is accepted as well but the emphasis is on coins because at the final “pour” students love to hear the sound pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters hit their buckets. This year that rhythmic pling brought lots of bling. After every penny was counted the grand total for Johnson Traditional Penny War in 2011 is over $2,100. That’s a lot of pennies!
