Update: Motorcycle run moved to Sunday

Brick-a-thon still on for Saturday…
But motorcycle run is now SUNDAY!

The rain won’t go away…
so we’re moving the first ever Crusade Endowment Motorcycle Run to Sunday, September 27. All the times and locations remain the same…just move it all up to Sunday! Hope to see you there nice and dry. See all the details below.

A real story about giving back

The Wilkins twins, Joel and Laine were born prematurely. They spent several weeks in Kosair Children’s Hospital. Their father, Darren and their mother, Valerie are long time Crusade supporters. Darren who was a member of the Leavenworth FD for twenty years says he never thought all those years of collecting that his family would need Crusade help. But he says when the boys were taken to Kosair he noticed that on every piece of equipment there was a Crusade plaque and that really brought home for him what the Crusade is all about.

The Wilkins family wanted to honor everyone involved with their sons’ survival in a permanent way. They chose to buy eight bricks on the Crusade Walk of Fame in honor of the doctors, nurses, friends and family who helped Joel and Laine become the happy, healthy seven month olds that you see in their latest photo.
