VIPS honors Crusade
The WHAS Crusade for Children has touched countless lives in its 56 year history. Visually Impaired Preschool (VIPS) honored the Crusade with a Founder’s Celebration.
Over the past 24 years your dollars to the Crusade have provided more than 53,000 hours of one-on-one teacher time for visually impaired youngsters in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. In fact those dollars helped make VIPS a reality.
Diane Nelson, VIPS Director said, “VIPS was founded because Crusade had the vision that Sharon Bensinger, the founder of VIPS, had as well. The intial donation of $10,000 from the Crusade is what allowed VIPS to begin.”
Over the past 24 years VIPS has received more than $1 million from Crusade grants.
That fundraising effort continues with the 56th Annual WHAS Crusade for Children which is coming up June 6-7, 2009.
