Buddy Head remembered

A long time volunteer for the WHAS Crusade for Children is honored outside of the WHAS11 Studios at 520 West Chestnut Street.

The Crusade Walk of Fame was set up to raise money, and to provide the community a chance to pay tribute to a loved one.

Buddy Head spent more than 50 of his 74 years working on the Crusade for Children.

Buddy was born in March of 1938 and died in July of 2012, exactly one month after the WHAS Crusade. His wife, Judy, was presented the Buddy Award by WHAS Crusade for Children President Dawn Lee.

The Buddy Award is named after longtime Crusade Executive Director Bud Harbsmeier.

Buddy always considered his work and his financial contributions to the Crusade insurance because none of his children or grandchildren ever needed assistance from the Crusade, but five months after his passing Buddy’s great grandson was born with cerebral palsy.

Good Morning Kentuckiana’s Andy Treinen has more on Buddy’s loves for the WHAS Crusade for Children, in the video above.
