Happy Thanksgiving!

Moral Side of the News panelists on Great Day Live!

Fr. Joe Graffis, Rev. Sally McClain and moderator John Blim from the TV/radio program Moral Side of the News (produced by the Crusade for Children) appeared on WHAS11’s Great Day Live! with Rachel Platt and Terry Meiners. The topic: suggestions for saying grace on Thanksgiving. Take a look.

It’s true! Kids say the darndest things!

Everyone knows how to cook a turkey, right? These kindergarten students have their own ideas.

“Get a turkey from a farm. Pull the feathers off. Put salt and pepper on it. Cook it in an oven for four hours at five degrees.”
— Nic

“Buy the turkey at Kroger. Put sugar, baking soda and pumpkin in it. Bake it in the oven for 20 minutes at 50 degrees.”
— Mary Rose

“Catch a turkey in the forest. Put three eggs on the turkey. Cook it in the oven for three minutes at five degrees.”
— Isabel

“Buy the turkey at McDonald’s. Stuff it with ham meat, flour and pumpkin. Put it in the oven at a hot temperature for 45 minutes.”
— Evan

I would wait until a turkey passed by my house. I would kill it. I would cut its neck off! Then I would tie it to a tree. The feathers must come off. I’d keep the feathers. Now cut the ropes. Take out the guts. Put the turkey in the oven. Turn up the oven to 613 Fahernheit. Set the timer for 45 minutes. It’s ready when it beeps. Taste it before you serve. Yummm!

Here’s another idea:
1. Find a turkey.
2. Cut it in half.
3. Add grease, butter, salt and pepper
4. Put it in a roasting pan in oven for 6-8 minutes at 10-12 degrees.
5. Serve with Pizza!!

Share these Thanksgiving ideas with your cook!

Special thanks to the kindergarten class at Sacred Heart Model School in Louisville.

Giving for a lifetime
