Abbey Road quilt benefits Crusade

What do The Beatles, a quilt and the WHAS Crusade for Children have in common? The answer to that question is the Quilt Girls.

“This is all based off of the cover of the album “Revolver,” said Liz Dugan, one of the self proclaimed Abbey Road on the River “Quilt Girls.”

Liz Dugan, Lara and Heather Schroering love The Beatles and they love children. So for this year’s Abbey Road on the River festival they decided to make and raffle a unique quilt to benefit the Crusade.

Dugan said, “It’s the ultimately souvenir. It is. It’s the ultimate souvenir of Abbey Road on the River. We want somebody to win it. It’s always fun to give it to the person who wins it and it’s always fun to give the money to the charity.”

Ultimately all the bands who play this year’s Abbey Road on the River festival will sign the quilt. You can get your tickets at the Abbey Road on the River Festival May 26-30, 2011 on The Belvedere in downtown Louisville.
