Today the sound of “cha-ching!” resonated throughout the University of Louisville campus. WHAS Crusade for Children CEO Dawn Lee presented the university with one of the Crusade’s largest grants.

Lee told a gathering of UofL faculty and staff, “The WHAS Crusade for Children is proud to present a combined total to the University of Louisville of $497,864!”

That combined total includes 11 grants to university departments such as the Weisskopf Center and the Child Neurology Program.

“The money from the Crusade helps us generate new knowledge about the causes, prevention and treatment of childhood illnesses. It helps disemminate that knowledge by caring for patients and teaching the next generation of those who’ll provide care for children,” said Dr. Edward Halperin for the University of Louisville.

This year’s 11 Crusade grants to UofL brings the total given to the university to more than $19 million in fifty five years.
