TJ Preschool closes and donates to Crusade
After 40 years of educating the children in the Brownsboro area, Thomas Jefferson Preschool closed its doors due to the economy and changing needs for childcare.
The original board members stated in the Articles of Incorporation, that they wanted any funds left after the dissolution, to be donated to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
“As the last Director of the TJ Preschool, I have completed the financial activities for the preschool and am ready to make our contribution,” said Kathy Barako, former school director.
She presented a certified check for $8,800 to Crusade CEO and President Dawn Lee on September 30, 2010.
“I wanted to see that the Crusade receives this generous check on behalf of the many students and families who are proud to say they are ‘TJ Kids’”, Barako said.
