Kentucky state employees kick off campaign
WHAS Crusade for Children is one of six charitable choices
According to Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, one in five Kentuckians now needs assistance. The governor spoke Thursday, July 15 at the Kentucky Employees Charitable Campaign (KECC) kick off where he applauded state employees for stepping up to help those in need.
Beshear said, “This is a tough time. I don’t have to tell you that.”
Employees from the various state departments fill the Frankfort Convention Center. They heard from the governor as well as the six charities which benefit from their generosity. The WHAS Crusade for Children is one of those charities.
Dawn Lee, CEO of the WHAS Crusade for Children said, “The Kentucky Employees Charitable Campaign is so important to the WHAS Crusade for Children because it allows us to involve state employees across the entire state who support our mission of helping children with special needs.”
State employees gave $1.4 million last year. The goal for 2010 is $1,510,000.
