Highview FD hosts Balloon Boo-Fest

The balloon festival will be held at McNeely Lake Park on Friday, October 24th from 6:30-8:30pm.

Families all across Kentuckiana will gather to attend the First Annual ‘Balloon Boo-Fest’, a Halloween hot-air balloon glow hosted by the Highview Fire Department to raise money for Crusade for Children.

This event held at McNeely Lake Park on Friday, October 24th from 6:30-8:30p.m., will host over 15 glowing hot air-balloons and trick-or-treating. Families and children are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes for the event. The cost of the event is FREE with a donation to Crusade for Children at the entrance of the park on Cooper Chapel Road.

Sponsoring the event are local businesses who will be passing out candy at each of the glowing balloons throughout the park.

“Raising money for the Crusade for Children has been a tradition with all the Jefferson County fire departments for many years, but it’s not just a week-long fundraiser for us. We do whatever we can year-round to raise money for these children in need. Our balloon glow will not only have safe trick-or-treating for the kids but will be a great experience for the whole family, ultimately bring the community together.” -Chief Dave Goldsmith, Highview Fire Department

Proceeds will go towards the annual fundraiser for the WHAS Crusade for Children.
